Now That LOST is Over, It’s Time to Move On
I’ve always loved television. I was raised by television, but I never had a show that I just couldn’t miss until LOST came along. I watched and re-watched episodes seasons at a time. I theorized, debated and argued over characters and plot lines. I bought a Dharma Initiative t-shirt and glassware. NERD! I know! I’m a junkie. So anyway, now it’s six years later, and it’s all over. I don’t intend on boring you with my long-winded, drawn-out thoughts on the finale, because dammit, I could type all night on the subject and you’d probably want to kill me (or yourself) by the time I was done. Ergo, I’ll just say that although I would have liked to have seen a lot more questions answered, I think the finale successfully captured the greater meaning of the show. Well done.
Yes, I’ll miss the weekly ritual of zoning out in front of my 71″ t.v. and yes, I’ll likely go through LOST withdrawal, but I will survive. In fact, I think it’s a good thing that it’s over. It’s summer time. Life is good. Starting next week, I’ve got my house to myself again and I’m ready to enjoy and embrace everything the world hands me.
Below is a clip from Jimmy Kimmel, with some LOST advice now that the show has concluded. If you’ve never seen the show, no need to watch it. Otherwise, you’ll get it. It’s a little fun-poking at the hardcore fans, encouraging them to move on with their lives. I think it’s good advice. I’m actually considering canceling cable!
Namaste, bitches!
